In 1978, I had a great job opportunity in a small town near Atlanta, Georgia, in Business management. My two young children and I relocated and lived there until I transferred to a similar position in Ohio several years later. I eventually relocated my family to Calgary, Alberta, in late 1981, where we lived until we moved to Kitchener-Waterloo in 1985.

After meeting my husband, Mark Stahley, I decided to make my permanent home here.

Mark grew up in Kitchener his entire life after both of his parents relocated from Saskatchewan. Mark comes from a family of firefighters, and after a 34.5 year career with the Kitchener Fire Department, he retired in January 2020. His love of people and wanting to serve, is why Mark loves to assist newcomers to Canada and promote our awesome community!

Mark and I have travelled quite a few times to Europe (especially France and Scotland), as well as Germany, Switzerland, England,  West Africa, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Travelling across Canada three times from coast to coast and many states in the US, we have met many wonderful, diverse people over the years.

As a young woman​ with two young children, I know the stress and anxiety that relocating can be, especially when you are relocating to another country. So in 2007 we decided to start Porchlite Relocations based on our love of people and travelling, and relocating my own young family.
